Trina McQueen

Trina McQueen is Adjunct Professor in the Arts and Media Department of Schulich School of Business, York University.

She has been President and COO of CTV Inc., founding President of the Discovery Channel, and head of News, Current Affairs and Newsworld for CBC. She has been active in the industry serving on the Boards of Directors of CBC, Telefilm Canada, the Canadian Television Fund and the National Film Board Advisory Council.

Mrs. McQueen began her career as a reporter and host for CBC and CTV and has often been described as a trailblazer for women in the industry. She has been named to the Canadian Film and Television Hall of Fame and the Canadian News Hall of Fame. Her numerous awards include the Acheivement Gemini; the Canadian Journalism Foundation Award of Excellence, and the Banff World Television Festival Lifetime Acheivement award.

For her services to the industry, she was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. She currently serves on the Boards of Tafelmusik Barouque Orchestra; the Canadian Opera Company, the Banff Centre for the Arts, and Historica Dominion Institute.
